			<description><![CDATA[I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. S's passing.  I never had him as a teacher at Badger (class of 76).  Mr. Smarslik was always in the halls bird-dogging students and though at first I was scarred of him he soon became a great friend to me and all the students at Badger.  I never heard a complaint against him and he had a very developed sense of humor that could make me/us all laugh.  He also spent time with all students and constantly encouraged us to do well in school.  He was the best teacher and friend to all the students and when pressed entertained us with stories of his past work as "Dancing Bear" on the TV show of my youth-Captain Kangaroo.  With his passing he will live on as a great person who helped all of us.  I will miss him greatly.]]></description>			<category>Condolences</category>
