Michael A. York, 50, of Delavan, passed away Nov. 1, 2017, at his home. Born in Burlington, he grew up in the Elkhorn area and graduated from Delavan-Darien High School. He worked as a mason before entering the world of bartending and restaurant management. For more than 20 years, he worked at such local establishments as Hogs & Kisses, Lake Geneva; Mulligan’s and Brick House Bar and Grill, Delavan; and, most recently, at Whiskey Ranch, Darien. Michael was well-liked and happy to help people. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and spending time with his family. Michael was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears. He is survived by his daughters, Kaley York and Nevaeh Buck, Delavan; mother Nancy Targo, of Crooksville, Ohio; brother Scott York, Lake Geneva; sisters Elizabeth Jane Dennis (Rick Chevalier), Crooksville, Kathy (Shawn) Smith, of Roseville, Ohio, and Ardith “Mary” Downour, of Somerset, Ohio; aunt Diana Carter, Delavan; uncles Doug (Donna) Targo, Darien, Wayne (Dale Ann Taylor) Targo, Elkhorn, and Gordon Targo, Pell Lake; his best friends Benny Useni, Janesville, and Stacey Koenen, Elkhorn; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur M. Targo Jr. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Steinke-Lazarczyk Funeral Home, Lake Geneva, WI. Service will be at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Robert P. Rickman, of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Delavan, officiating. A gathering will occur at 2 p.m. at the Whiskey Ranch.
